Carlos E. Alvarez focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and cross-border regulatory investigations. Carlos is experienced in the management of diverse state and federal commercial disputes, contractual matters, administrative law, business tort disputes, and agency investigations both in state and federal court. These cases span various areas such as hospitality, insurance, telecommunications, real estate, and banking among others.
Carlos is a member of the Florida Bar, Miami International Arbitration Society and the Dade County Bar Association.
He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, and LL.M. in international arbitration from the University of Miami School of Law. During his time in law school, Carlos was editor-in-chief of the International Comparative Law Review and vice president of the Hispanic Law Student Association. Carlos has been published in the areas of international arbitration, cryptocurrency, regulatory and governmental issues, and cannabis law.
Carlos received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and French, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University in 2014. A native of Colombia, Carlos is fluent in Spanish and English. Carlos is also proficient in French.
