Lazaro P. Fields

Lazaro P. Fields is a trial lawyer who represents individuals and businesses in criminal and civil government investigations and complex commercial disputes. Throughout his career, he has been entrusted with the representation of prominent clients, including a President of the United States, in matters spanning high-stakes federal criminal litigation and complex civil proceedings. His courtroom acumen has earned him national public recognition.

Lazaro’s career reflects experience across all three branches of government. Before entering private practice, Lazaro served in the executive branch as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. His prosecutions were featured in national and international media outlets and earned him an award from the United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General. In the judiciary, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Federico A. Moreno of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In the legislature, he served as a Legislative Fellow with the Florida House of Representatives Judiciary Committee and as a Legislative Aide to a State Representative.

Lazaro has been appointed to numerous positions of public trust by state leaders. Governor Ron DeSantis appointed him to two judicial nominating commissions—the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission in 2026 and the Fifth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission in 2024—and in 2020, Florida House Speaker José Oliva appointed him to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors. He also served as a Legislative Fellow under Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran in 2016 and a Gubernatorial Fellow under Governor Rick Scott in 2015.

He is a member of the Belen Jesuit Alumni Association and the Federalist Society, has served on the Florida State University College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, and is fluent in Spanish.
