About

Lazaro P. Fields is a trial lawyer who represents businesses and individuals in government investigations, criminal litigation, and complex commercial disputes. Lazaro was a member of the legal team that obtained dismissal of the “Mar-a-Lago documents” indictment against President Donald J. Trump, and he served as trial counsel to the Trump Organization in the civil fraud lawsuit brought by the New York Attorney General, where his cross-examination of a key government witness was lauded by President Trump as a Perry Mason moment.

Before entering private practice, Lazaro served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. His prosecutions were featured in national and international media outlets and earned him recognition from the United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General.

Lazaro has been appointed to numerous positions of public trust by state leaders, beginning as a Gubernatorial Fellow under Governor Rick Scott in 2015 and a Legislative Fellow under Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran in 2016. In 2020, Florida House Speaker Jose Oliva appointed him to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors, and Governor Ron DeSantis has since appointed him to two judicial nominating commissions—the Fifth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission in 2024 and the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission in 2026.

He is a member of the Belen Jesuit Alumni Association and the Federalist Society, has served on the Florida State University College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, and is fluent in Spanish.
