Carmen Manrara Cartaya Represents Broward County School District’s New Superintendent in Employment Negotiations

Continental PLLC’s lead Labor & Employment attorney, Carmen Manrara Cartaya, represented newly appointed Broward County superintendent, Dr. Howard Hepburn, in employment negotiations with the school board.

Through Carmen’s advocacy and negotiations with the board chair and general counsel, key conditions for Dr. Hepburn’s three-year superintendent contract were agreed upon, including salary and severance structure. The Broward County School Board approved the final negotiated employment agreement on Tuesday, May 21st.

Carmen is an experienced trial attorney who focuses her practice on employment and complex commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Carmen was a trial attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Miami District Office.
